Shaker bath featuring electronic control with analogue temperature and speed control.
The NE5 series of shaker baths feature a deep drawn tank with rounded corners manufactured from stainless steel. Ideal for day-to-day use and can be easily cleaned.
Clips and racks can be mounted onto an accessory perforated shelf which fits onto reciprocating stainless steel trolley. Flasks, microtitre plates and test-tube racks can easily be loaded and unloaded, lifting out the complete shelf. The trolley can also easily be removed for cleaning.
Temperature control
- Electronic analogue temperature control.
- Temperature range ambient +5°C - 99°C
- Sensitivity @45°C is ±0.2°C
- Uniformity @ 45°C is ±0.1°C
- Highly accurate sensor immersed in the water.
- Factory temperature calibration on every unit.
Heating
- Heating element, safety cut-out and temperature sensors concealed underneath tank providing a totally clear 'clutter free' working area and easy to clean.
- The heating footprint covers underside base of the tank, its low mass provides rapid energy transfer; quicker heat up times and a reduction in energy consumption with improved temperature uniformity as heat is spread over a broad area.
Shaking system
- Variable linear shaking from 0 to 380 strokes/min
- Stroke length (amplitude) fixed to 20mm
- Quiet in use
- By removing the trolley the product can be used as a standard laboratory bath.
- The water level can range from 50mm to 120mm for varying vessel heights.
- Stable Shaker Trolley, with removable perforated shelf unlike many traditional shaker baths where the whole shaker carriage assemblies have to be removed to unload or load. The only item lifted out of this Clifton shaker bath is the perforated shelf, accessory clips and installed glassware or consumables, making it lighter and easier to remove.
- Uniquely this Shaker bath features a useful stainless steel recessed tray for standing flasks on prior to and after immersion.
Water bath construction
- Stainless steel 304 spec tank, crevice free.
- Body constructed from durable steel chassis, zinc coated, then painted. The paint features Antibacterial protection, hygienic coating which actively inhibits bacterial growth.
- Featuring easy to "wipe clean" control panel also features Antibacterial properties, good chemical and detergent resistance.
Carries the CE mark meeting the requirements of Low Voltage and EMC Directives.

- The reciprocating trolley accepts a wide number of accessory universal flask clip trays, which can be made up in any number of specific ways for your applications e.g. flask clips, test tube racks, micro titre trays.
- Shaking Clifton water bath designed for immersion of flasks/bottles/racks in a highly stable temperature environment within ±0.1°C throughout the water bath.
- The trolley and universal flask tray can be easily removed and cleaned.
- Operates in temperature range ambient to 99°C where majority of standard laboratory work is undertaken.
- Powder painted bath body both inside and out providing a durable finish and protection against corrosion.
- All Clifton water baths are fitted with non-slip rubber feet for safety.
- Quiet running shaker mechanism and drive motor.
- A bold temperature control panel ensuring set and actual water temperature can be easily seen.
- Broad range of accessories available to suit wide range of applications.
- Fitted with a heating element with greatly improved heat transfer properties producing quicker heat up times compared with traditional heating methods.
- Each bath is uniquely identified with its own serial number recorded on our product database, which includes all of its manufacturing inspection data. Electrically tested for safety at final inspection and a test certificate enclosed in rear of the instruction book. To verify the performance of the temperature control system it is checked by calibrating the water temperature and controller at 45°C to ensure it meets the quoted specification.
- Powder painted body providing a durable finish and protection against corrosion and now featuring “active anti-bacterial technology”. This paint finish actively inhibits bacterial growth improving hygiene requirements as demanded by many clinical and laboratory environments. Hygienic coatings are part of a controlled approach to cleaner facilities. The Clifton range has always featured easy to wipe clean smooth paint finishes that are resistant to routine and efficient disinfection’s, however this improved coating featuring ‘active anti-bacterial’ properties provides an extra layer of defence. This new anti-bacterial paint finish is effective against major strains of bacterium including E-coli and Staphylococcus aureus, resistant strain. Within its formulation an active ingredient is a proven anti-bacterial agent bound into the coating during application and curing to the product. The efficacy of the paint finish applied to the Clifton range is maintained over time, as the anti-bacterial agent is integral within the paint finish.
SL1-22: Stainless Steel Gable Lid to fit 22 and 28 Litre Unstirred Baths
Features:
1. The Clifton Gable lid has been designed allowing full use of whole width of a Clifton water bath with the lowest height of the gable being 45mm above the bath. This unique feature means test tube racks or flasks can be placed across the whole width of the bath without fouling the lid maximising the bath working area.
2. Designed with customer in mind ensuring where condensation accumulates in use there are no drip points which could spoil work in open flasks in your Clifton water bath.
3. Water evaporation is reduced at elevated temperatures, maintaining water levels in the Clifton water bath.
4. Where an accessory TC-1 Thermometer is used the temperature can be read from the thermometer with the lid in place.
5. Lid fits into the tank ensuring all condensation runs back into the bath and not down the side onto your bench top.
6. Reduces energy consumption and running costs for your Clifton water bath.
7. Insulated handle.

GL1-22: Hinged Gable Lid to suit 22 Litre Unstirred Baths
